About

Born in the Soviet Union, Valerie showed an early interest in art. She began to draw at 3 years old, to sculpt at 7, and started to consider the arts as a possible career field at 14. After immigrating to the United States, she began taking private lessons with academically trained tutors. In 1995 she participated in the Cooper Union High School Fine Arts program. She attended the School of Visual Arts and earned a BFA with a concentration in graphic design.

Valerie has worked with House and Garden, the American Cancer Society, Carlos Campos, and others, since graduating in 2005. She acquired 10 years of experience as an Art Director at one of New York's premier society publications, Quest Magazine, before deciding to move on to concentrate on her freelance work in 2017.

Valerie continues to explore other areas of interest, such as painting, printmaking, bookbinding, and photography.
